Around you is your Shell: a colossal weapon of a body, sometimes shaped like a human, sometimes very much not. Inside, you are HLVS: a pair of once-people, now reduced to barely-living batteries, the twin hemispheres of this terrible machine.

And you will never escape it.

HLVS is a game about agency (or lack thereof), inspired by Gundam, Pacific Rim, Armored Core, Ghost in the Shell, and This Is How You Lose the Time War. It can be played solo (as transcribed in this text) or w/ friends — consider having one play the Contractor, your guide and narrator; and the others a pair (or pairs) of pilots under their command. Complete jobs, earn credits, and be forced to choose

between life

and debt.
